LIL' KIM DECAPITATES NICKI MINAJ ON $9.99 'BLACK FRIDAY' MIXTAPE

Lil' Kim kept her word to meet the Valentine's Day deadline for her new mixtape 'Black Friday,' but anyone looking to feed their hard drive with new heat were greeted with a surprise. Dropping the tape early yesterday evening, the Queen Bee tweeted a link to a PayPal account to purchase the offering for $9.99, surprising fans who expected the street CD to be a freebie.

Despite slapping a price tag on the tape, the Brooklyn diva sweetened the incentive by promising that the first 100,000 copies sold will arrive in the mailbox with an autograph. Kim also shocked the Internet with the graphic cover image for the 'tape, boasting an old picture Photoshopped to have her brandishing a blood-soaked sword and a headless portrait of Nicki Minaj, insinuating her decapitation.

For those leery of forking over the dough to purchase the tape, Kimmy Blanco also released the full-length version of her track 'Pissin' on 'Em,' which sees her firing shots at Minaj over her instrumental from the track 'Did It on 'Em.' The song features gruff lyrics about holding the female rap crown, as well as Kim reconfiguring rhymes from the original tune.

'Black Friday' is Kim's second mixtape release to date, following 2008's 'Ms. G.O.A.T.' The tape featured previously released tracks from her oeuvre, as well as reconfigurations of classics from female rappers including Lauryn Hill's 'Lost Ones' and Lady of Rage's 'Afro Puffs.'

Lil Wayne Announces ‘I Am Music II’ Tour With Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross & Travis Barker

Lil Wayne’s takeover for 2011 has officially begun. The 28 Year-Old Grammy Award-Winning rapper has announced he will be hitting the road for a 25 city US excursion with Travis Barker, Mixmaster Mike, Rick Ross, who is currently on the road as we speak and label mate Nicki Minaj.

The trek will begin March 18th in Buffalo, NY and will stop in such cities as New Orleans, Atlanta, Miami, Washington, D.C. and many others. The 25 city excursion will conclude in NJ at the 2011 Bamboozle Festival on May 1st. The tour will also lock in a few Canada dates as well. Last year’s “America’s Most Wanted” Festival brought along Drake, Young Jeezy, Soulja Boy and Pleasure P where Wayne and company hit a slew of outside venues. Tour dates, below.

Kanye West Releasing New Studio Album This Summer

Kanye West is looking to make 2011 a year to remember. Alongside his joint album with Jay-Z, titled 'Watch the Throne,' 'Ye will drop another solo release this summer. West announced the news via his favorite method of communication: Twitter. "I'll be back this SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!" he wrote on Sunday (Jan. 23). "WATCH THE THRONE COMING IN 2 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!! MY NEW ALBUM COMING THIS SUMMER." The album would be Kanye's sixth studio offering. He released his critically acclaimed fifth album, 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' in November. The album shot to No. 1 and sold just under half a million copies in its first week. West and Jay are set to release 'Watch the Throne' in March. The duo dropped their single 'H.A.M.,' earlier this month. The track quickly shot to No. 2 on the iTunes singles chart, losing out to Britney Spears' new track, 'Hold It Against Me.' Despite working in the studio on his new projects, Kanye continues to promote 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,' and will shoot the video for his latest single 'All of the Lights' which also features Rihanna. The 33-year-old will also headline the upcoming Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. West is billed to close the show on Sunday, April 17. Jay-Z is no stranger to sitting high on the charts when it comes to his music career, which makes the Brooklyn rapper's No. 3 debut on 'The New York Times' Best Sellers list an expected achievement.

The Roc Nation head honcho's memoir 'Decoded' landed on the Hardcover Nonfiction edition of the newspaper's Best Sellers list for the week of December 5. Coming in at the top of the list are George W. Bush's 'Decision Points' and Lauren Hillenbrand's 'Unbroken.'

Hov's book has been received warmly by fans and critics alike. Perhaps 'Decoded's success has much to do with 'The Blueprint 3' creator's partnership with Microsoft search engine Bing before the book's release. Justin Bieber is apparently very serious about his "rap" career, so much so, that the youngster is planning on releasing a mixtape with Young Money member Lil' Twist. According to Twist, the teen heartthrob will take his flow to a full album.

"It's in the works," Twist revealed in an interview. "We got a few records done, and every time we talk, we actually talk about this mixtape." The mixtape will include the duo's take on already released songs, such as Travie McCoy's 'Billionaire,' which features singer, Bruno Mars. "That's how we're gonna do the majority of the mixtape, with other people's records and just me freestyling over it. And Justin's a rapper now, so he's gonna be goin' in," Twist said.

Bieber showcased his rap skills on a viral video in which he flows under the moniker Shawty Mack. Although the 16-year-old seemed to be playful about the whole thing, at this point, just about anything he touches turns to gold, so he's definitely not ruling out bringing Mack back out to play. "I thought it was fun, I like rapping," Bieber told MTV News. "Maybe in the future, Shawty Mane will come back."

T.I. sued over incident at his studio

Rapper T.I. is being sued by an Atlanta recording studio technician who says was held hostage for 12 hours and beaten by one of the musician’s employees in a dispute over a missing necklace.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, was not at Echo Studios at the time of the Sept. 8 incident, but the suit filed Monday in Fulton County State Court holds him responsible because he was allegedly sent e-mails, text messages and videos as the alleged attack was happening. T.I. is the owner of Echo Studios.

The suit was filed by Norris Gresham, who is identified as an artist and a technician at Echo and who also occasionally helped set up a entertainment venues.

The suit also names some of T.I.’s employees and performers who use his studios – Jonathan Carle, a hip-hop artist known as “Spodee;” Terrance Beasley, also called “Cap;” Cortez Thomas, nicknamed “C Rod;” Nathaniel Josey, who went by the name “Mac Boney;” and Michael Render, whose stage name now is “Mike Bigga.”

According to the suit, Render, formerly known as Killer Mike, couldn’t find a gold diamond-encrusted chain and medallion. While they looked for the necklace, Gresham said, he was held captive for 12 hours, threatened and interrogated.

At one point, Render sent text messages offering a “1k reward for information regarding the item.”

Also, Josey was sending T.I. text messages and e-mails, updating him on what was happening at Echo Studios, according to the suit.

After the necklace and medallion were found hidden in a ceiling, Carle began to suspect that Gresham had told Render that Carle had taken it.

“Spodee became upset and disturbed,” the lawsuit said.

Moments later, the suit said, Carle produced a gun and threatened to kill Gresham.

But Beasley, one of the Echo managers, persuaded Carle to beat up Gresham instead of shooting him, the suit said.

Beasley and Josey allegedly pushed Gresham down some stairs and then Carle beat him, knocking out two of his teeth.

The suit said Thomas, also an Echo manager, used his cell phone camera to record the attack and then he forwarded the video to T.I.

“T.I. did nothing to stop or prevent the assault,” the suit said.

Three weeks after the incident central to the suit, a federal judge ordered T.I. to return to prison for 11 months for violating his probation. T.I. and his wife were arrested in Los Angeles on a drug charge just a few months after he was released from prison where he served a year and a day for a 2007 weapons charge.

Kanye West is ensconced in his Diamond Head, Hawaii home and recording studio, putting the final touches on his forthcoming album with guest rappers like Q-Tip, RZA and Pete Rock, numerous reports have confirmed. A source close to the project — which is tentatively titled “Good Ass Job” according to G.O.O.D. Music artist Big Sean — says it will be released in June.
